PORSGRUNN, DEN 4. JUNE 1945.
Report to Major Rutherford,
P. W. X. Akershus,
OSLO
Ad. Russian Camp at Herøya pr. Porsgrunn:
The russian camp at Herøya is established. Until now 187 russians have arrived from
various districts in Telemark fylke. 12 of them are hospitalised. We have got the necessary
equipment, partly through purchase, partly german establishments. The medical equipment
from Kap. at Toten has arrived and will be used after demand.
We are still waiting for ca. 213 russians, 90 from Valebø and 123 from Notodden (Elgsjø). I was phoned yesterday from Notodden that the russians there had got an order from the russian committee in Oslo to remain at Notodden (Elgsjø).
All arrangements including desinfection etc. were already prepared for. I hope this matter will be rearranged, at it is more practical for the administration in future to have them all in place, especially for the medical service.
For transport of equipment and food to the russian camp are needed.
3 trucks (1 big, 1 medium, 1 light).
3 cars (person cars).
Petrol and oil.
We beg you to let us get the permission to order them from german units here, or to order the requisition directly.
Finally we should like to know who is going to pay for necessary requisitions and repair etc. in connection with the russian camp.
Captain A. Schrumpf.
